Kachloul Summer Talks - Ipswich Town News

A national newspaper is suggesting that Town are to hold summer talks with Hassan Kachloul. The out of contract Moroccan is available on a free transfer in the summer and Town and Spurs are both linked with a move for the Southampton player.

Town have already failed to sign Kachloul twice. Last summer a fee of £2 million was agreed between the two clubs but the player decided he wanted to stay at the Dell and bide his time. Later on another deal fell through agains as the player wished to take his time before committing himself to another club or a new contract at Southampton. It was around this time that Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe claimed that Kachloul's wage demands were in the region of £25,000 a week. According to Town manager George Burley wages were not actually discussed between Kachloul and Town. Later Chelsea were linked with a summer move for the 28-year-old.

With Gert Verheyen seemingly staying at Club Brugge Town may be tempted to put in another bid for a player they are clearly interested in. Kachloul himself has seemed more keen on a Town move lately, saying at the beginning of May: "It doesn't bother me what part of the country I play in, I just want to be part of a successful team. You can't argue with Ipswich's success this season. I think they are great. They are so high up because they deserve it. They impress on the pitch and have a great set of fans."

Of course, if his wage demands are as high as Rupert Lowe claimed then Town certainly won't be signing him.
