Bowden Leaving Town - Ipswich Town News

Town have announced that chief executive Derek Bowden is to leave the club at the end of the season. Bowden has been with the Blues since the summer of 2002 and helped take the club through the period of administration and the Marcus Evans takeover.

Club owner Evans paid tribute to Bowden's time at Portman Road: "I am sure all fans connected to Ipswich Town Football Club will acknowledge the tremendous contribution Derek has made during his time in the post.

"During a very difficult time for the business, he has shown outstanding loyalty and commitment and I, like all supporters and stakeholders in the club, would like to wish him every success with the other opportunities he is leaving to pursue."

Last month, former British Olympic Association chief executive Simon Clegg was linked with a high-ranking job at Town, although there has been no confirmation of the reports.

Prior to joining Town, Bowden worked for former FA chief executive Adam Crozier at Saatchi and Saatchi where he ran operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
