Watson Set for Peterborough Trial - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands that released academy central defender Paul Watson will spend next week on trial at Peterborough United. The Scot, recently told he has no future with the Blues, spent last week with League Two Aldershot, along with Town midfielder Ed Upson.

Upson has also been told he can leave the Blues at the end of the season and previously had a trial spell with Southend and played a reserve game with Leyton Orient last month.

During the duo's time with the Shots, they played in a reserve game at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Watson was also recently watched in action for Town's U18s by SPL side Hibernian.

Midfielder Jai Reason is also attracting widespread interest for his performances in the Blue Square Premier with Cambridge. Reason, another player on his way out of Portman Road this summer, was recently watched by Hartlepool United.

Cambridge are hopeful they can persuade the 19-year-old to stay at the Abbey Stadium.
