Town Confirm Muñoz Trial - Ipswich Town News

Town have confirmed that Athletic Bilbao midfielder Iñaki Muñoz is spending the week on trial with the Blues, as TWTD was first to report on Monday.

A club spokesman confirmed our story: "He is one of a number of players we have on trial at the club at the moment, it being the time of the year when we start to look at trialists.”

Pamplona-born Muñoz started his career with Osasuna, progressing from their B team to their senior side via a season-long loan at CD Toledo in 2000/01.

In 2007 the 5ft 11½in tall midfielder joined his current club, where he has fallen out of favour, making only three appearances this season. He has one year remaining on his contract, but is surplus to requirements.

Muñoz has made unofficial ‘international' appearances for both the Basque country and the Navarre region.

Town also have 18-year-old released Fulham defender Troy Brown on trial. The Wales U17 and U19 international played in yesterday's 3-3 reserves draw at Peterborough and last week's 7-3 win at Southend, as did another ex-Fulham youngster Pierre Hall and former Manchester United winger Chris Curran.
