Clarke Scores Two More as Brentford Win Title - Ipswich Town News
Billy Clarke netted his 17th and 18th goals of the season to help Brentford to the League Two title with a 3-1 win at his former loan club Darlington. Clarke is one of three Town players to have featured for the Bees this season.
Dean Bowditch scored two goals in eight starts and one sub appearance early in the season, while Jordan Rhodes scored seven in 14 for Andy Scott's side before breaking a metatarsal.
His replacement Clarke has done even better, so far netting six goals in seven games since making his temporary move in March.
The Irish U21 international is out of contract at the end of the season and had been told he could leave by former boss Jim Magilton, however, new manager Roy Keane, like Clarke from Cork, could reverse that decision.
Elsewhere, Liam Trotter played the full 90 minutes on Friday as Scunthorpe drew 2-2 at Leicester. Trotter is also out of contract at the end of the season.
Jai Reason and Kurt Robinson, both of whom are out of contract and have been told they can leave in the summer, are in action with Cambridge and Rushden respectively on Sunday afternoon on the Blue Square Premier's final day. Cambridge are in with a slim chance of taking the title if they win, Burton lose and there is a five goal turnaround.
Dan Harding, another player whose deal is up at the end of the season, and Reading are in action at Norwich City in Monday's live Sky game.
