Town Duo Eye Colchester-Peterborough Clash - Ipswich Town News

Town were well represented at Saturday's Colchester United-Peterborough game with Bryan Klug and Charlie Woods watching the match. The Posh confirmed their place in next season's Championship with a 1-0 win.

The Town duo may well have been keeping an eye on Peterborough left midfielder George Boyd, who put in a man of the match performance playing in a position where the Blues are likely to make a summer signing, with Luciano Civelli out until 2010. The 23-year-old has two years remaining on his contract at London Road.

In addition to Boyd, Peterborough strike pair Aaron Mclean and Craig Mackail-Smith have also received interest from Championship clubs this season and could also have been the reason for Town's representation at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Jai Reason was in the Cambridge side which drew 0-0 with Altrincham to narrowly miss out on the Blue Square Premier title. Burton have been promoted to League Two, while the U's and Reason face Stevenage in the play-offs.

Kurt Robinson was in the Rushden side which ended their season with a 3-1 win at home to Woking. Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh has previously said he is keen to sign the young left-back permanently in the summer.
