Town Release Harding - Ipswich Town News

Town have announced that left-back Dan Harding has been released. The former Leeds and Brighton man is out of contract at the end of June.

Harding spent the latter half of the season on loan at Reading where he impressed enough for Royals director of Football Nick Hammond to suggest yesterday that a full-time move could be on the cards.

The 25-year-old fell out of favour at the end of the 2007/08 season and was sent on loan to Southend early last season. After joining Reading in January, Harding said he felt that his omission from Jim Magilton's plans was more down to the manager's personal feelings towards him than football.

Harding was Magilton's second signing after he took over as boss in the summer of 2006, joining from Leeds in a swap deal which saw Ian Westlake move to Elland Road with the Blues receiving an additional £450,000.

Liam Trotter is now the only one of the 13 out of contract players still to be told whether he has a future with the Blues. So far only Alex Bruce, Shane Supple and Ed Upson have been offered deals.

Trotter will meet with manager Roy Keane once he has returned from loan club Scunthorpe, who play in Saturday's League One play-off final at Wembley.
