Town boss Roy Keane has confirmed that midfielder Liam Trotter has been offered a new deal with the Blues. The 20-year-old is the last of the 13 out-of-contract players to discover whether he is in the new manager's plans.
Keane told the club site: "I have had a chat with Liam and we have offered him a new contract. I've told him that I'd like to keep him at the club."
Over the weekend reports in Scunthorpe suggested Trotter had been offered a new deal by the Blues with the Iron, where Trotter spent a successful spell on loan at the end of the season, understood to be keen to sign him on a permanent basis.
The Ipswich-born midfielder is one of only four players whose deals are up this summer to be offered a new contract. Alex Bruce has signed a new two-year deal, while keeper Shane Supple and midfielder Ed Upson are both close to signing new terms.
