Murray First of Three in International Action - Ipswich Town News

Academy frontman Ronan Murray is the first of three Town players in international action this weekend. Murray is likely to make his third appearance for the Republic of Ireland U19s as they face Belgium in the first of their European Championships elite qualifying group games.

The Belgians are hosting the four-team mini-tournament with the Irish subsequently taking on Switzerland on Sunday and then Sweden next Wednesday. The winners of the group go through to the finals in Ukraine in July.

On Saturday, released defender Chris Casement will be looking to win his first full Northern Ireland cap as a very young squad takes on Italy in Pisa (BBC 2 NI, Sky channel 992, 7.30pm). Skipper Gareth McAuley, a regular in Nigel Worthington's side, is unavailable due to the knee ligament injury he sustained at the end of the season.

Casement was told he had no future with the Blues at the end of the season and looks likely to join former loan side Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent basis over the summer.

Veliche Shumulikoski is in the Macedonia squad playing Norway in a World Cup qualifier in Skopje, also on Saturday. The Macedonians are in action again, at home to Iceland, on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a diary column in the financial section of one of the broadsheets says rumours are circulating that Town are in talks with Willis regarding shirt sponsorship. However, club owner and chairman Marcus Evans signed a sponsorship deal until June 2013 only a year ago.

Elsewhere, boss Roy Keane was back in Ireland on Tuesday to watch his brother Pat's Rockmount side lose 2-1 to Waterford in the final of the Munster Senior Cup.
