International Duo Victorious - Ipswich Town News

Town duo Veliche Shumulikoski and Ronan Murray helped their international sides to victories on Wednesday evening.

Shumulikoski played the first 77 minutes as Macedonia beat Iceland 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier in Skopje.

The Macedonians now sit third in their group, level with second-placed Scotland, who have played one game fewer, and behind Holland, who have already qualified for the finals in South Africa next year.

Meanwhile in Belgium, Ronan Murray and the Irish U19s ended their European Championships elite qualifying mini-tournament with a 2-1 win against Sweden. Murray won his fifth cap and came close to adding to his one goal at U19 level on a number of occasions.

Ireland had lost their first two games in the four-team competition and were already unable to qualify for July's finals in Ukraine. Switzerland, who beat the Irish 6-1 on Saturday, won the group and will take part in the finals.
