Midfielder Liam Trotter will turn down Town's offer of a new contract, according to a report this morning. The 20-year-old is out of contract at the end of the month and is said to be ready to join former loan side Scunthorpe.
Reports in Scunthorpe a fortnight ago claimed that the Ipswich-born player was unhappy with the terms on offer at Portman Road and that his agent had held further talks with the Iron.
At that point Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins seemed hopeful rather than confident of signing the Town academy product: "It is up to him to decide where his future is. The situation is a bit delicate at the moment but I have had a further talk with his agent and hopefully the door is still open for us."
If Trotter does decide to opt for a move to Glanford Park, the Blues would be entitled to compensation as he is under-24 and has been offered a contract.
