Lambe to Sign Deal Next Week - Ipswich Town News

Bermudian international winger Reggie Lambe will sign his first professional contract with the Blues when he returns for the start of pre-season training on July 2nd. The 18-year-old is currently back at home and played for his country's U23 side on Saturday.

Lambe says the terms of his deal have not yet been agreed: "I've not signed the contract yet but I will do when I return to the England for pre-season training.

"We still need to discuss how long the contract will be and my salary. It's good that we've got a new manager and he knows how to take care of his players.

"I did speak to him and he told me I was OK to play for Bermuda U23s as long as I'd had 10 days' rest.

"He has made sure we all have fitness programmes to follow over the summer to make sure we don't go back to the club unfit."

Lambe played in the Bermudian U23 team's 1-0 defeat to US side Crystal Palace Baltimore on Saturday and said it was his error which led the to the game's only goal: "I thought the team played well, although at times we were too timid and too eager to get rid of the ball in tight situations, rather than keep our calm and play the ball out.

"The goal they scored was my fault as I lost the ball and I'm very disappointed about that."

Lambe, who has already won nine full caps for Bermuda, scoring four goals, joined the Town academy in the summer of 2007 having been recommended to the club by a friend of former director Holly Bellingham.
