Supple Signs New Deal - Ipswich Town News

Keeper Shane Supple has signed a new one-year deal with the club. The Irishman, whose current terms are up at the end of the month, confirmed his intention to remain with the Blues last month.

Supple told the club site that he hopes to make more first team appearances next season: "I'm delighted to have agreed a new contract at the club.

"I've not signed just to sit on the bench though, I want to play first team football and I intend to put as much pressure on Wrighty as I can.

"I know he's a top goalkeeper and he proved that here last season, but he knows I'll be after his shirt."

Supple made only one appearance for the Blues last season, in the Carling Cup tie against Leyton Orient. The 22-year-old spent the latter stages of 2008/09 on loan at Oldham before picking up a knee injury.

Liam Trotter is now the only one of the four out-of-contract players offered a deal who is yet to sign up. The midfielder has also been offered a three-year contract by former loan side Scunthorpe and has been in discussions with both clubs.
