Manchester United and Celtic Midfielders Again Linked - Ipswich Town News
As the summer transfer window officially opens for business, this morning's tabloids are again linking Manchester United's Lee Martin and Celtic's Paul Hartley with moves to Town. The duo are amongst a number of players to be persistently mentioned in connection with the Blues this summer.
According to this morning's report, Town will pay Manchester United £2 million for winger Martin, who has also been linked with Bristol City and Leeds United.
Contrary to some reports, Martin is out of contract this summer and no new deal appears to have been offered at Old Trafford, which would mean no fee would be due to the Premier League champions for the 22-year-old.
Town manager Roy Keane is also again said to want to bring his former Celtic team-mate Paul Hartley to Portman Road. The 32-year-old is out of contract and is believed to be close to a move to Greek side Iraklis, but according to this morning's report, Keane hopes to persuade the Scottish international to join Town instead.
Previously Newcastle United, Sheffield United and German side Hannover 96 were also claimed to be interested in the former Hearts man.
