Reuser Confirmed For Fab's Big Day - Ipswich Town News

Testimonial man Fabian Wilnis has confirmed that his former team-mate and fellow Dutchman Martijn Reuser has been given permission to play at his testimonial with Colchester United at Portman Road on Saturday 25th July (KO 2pm).

Wilnis says he is chuffed that the midfielder will be there for his special day: "[I'm] absolutely over the moon that my good mate Martijn Reuser has finally got permission from his club in Holland to play in my testimonial. Can't wait to catch up and play with him again.”

Reuser, 34, is with Wilnis's former club NAC Breda, who play in the Eredivisie, the top division in Holland.

Wilnis has previously announced that Darren Currie, Gary Croft, John McGreal, Kevin Horlock, Jason Dozzell, Sylvain Legwinski, Simon Milton and Hermann Hreidarsson will play in an ‘old boys' game which will take place at half-time during the pre-season friendly between the current Town and Colchester sides.

The Dutchman is also publishing his autobiography The Full English later this month, which according to his Fab 10 website covers his full career: "From his early days learning the game in Holland to ten eventful years with Ipswich Town to his swansong at Grays Athletic. In it he is honest and open, recalling the numerous highs but also the lows which, at times, left him questioning his future.

”Most of the book, of course, centres around his time at Portman Road, from his joy at securing a dream move to England, helping the club get promoted at Wembley and then living the dream as a Premier League footballer.”

More details on The Full English nearer its launch, but TWTD has received a sneak preview and it's well worth a read.

Last week, TWTD revealed that Wilnis has commissioned a new Town song from North Stand season ticket holder and singer-songwriter Asa Jennings.
