Manchester United Defender to Return? - Ipswich Town News
Former Town loanee Danny Simpson has been linked with a return to the Blues. The 22-year-old is understood to have been told he can leave Old Trafford this summer.
Simpson, who is contracted to Manchester United until 2010, made seven starts and one sub appearance during a loan spell with Town during 2007/08.
Previously, Roy Keane had taken him to Sunderland where he was a member of the Blues boss's Championship-winning Black Cats side. Prior to that, the 5ft 8in tall defender spent two spells with United's Belgian feeder side Royal Antwerp.
Last season, the Salford-born right-back was on loan with Blackburn, but failed to hold down a regular first team place at Ewood Park.
