Keane: No More Deals Yet - Ipswich Town News
Boss Roy Keane says he is not expecting to make any additions to his squad in the next week, despite missing out on signing Daryl Murphy and Dean Whitehead from his former club Sunderland at the weekend. However, Keane says he is still looking to sign one or two more players before the season starts.
The Town manager said: "I still think we are short of one or two players for the course of what will be a tough season, but things are very quiet at the moment and I'm not expecting anything to be done in the next week or so.â€Â
Keane, who returned from a training camp with his squad in Portugal earlier today, says that despite having a significant budget, he will not ignore the club's young talent: "I've got lots of promising young lads and they will get their opportunity to impress me.
"All my players will get a chance, without a shadow of a doubt. Jon Walters, Shane Supple, Liam Trotter, young Jordan, young Connor - these are all lads that I didn't get chance to see at the end of last season that I have been able to watch over the last few days.â€Â
Town are back in pre-season friendly action at Brentford on Wednesday evening (KO 7.45pm).
