Lisbie in Squad for Clacton - Ipswich Town News

Town have named striker Kevin Lisbie in the squad for tonight's reserve game at Clacton (KO 7.45pm). The former Colchester and Charlton man is joined at the Rush Green Bowl by fellow first teamer Jaime Peters.

Boss Roy Keane told the club site that Peters would play a half having recently returned from international duty with Canada: "I'd like to give Jaime 45 minutes at Clacton.

"We have to be careful with him because he has only come back to us a couple of days ago and you have to be aware of the jet lag.

"We've had a look at him in training and what I like about Jaime is his enthusiasm and energy, so we will look to give him a half. We've also got Shane O'Connor and Kevin Lisbie in the squad as well."

Keane says the game has come too early for Pablo Couñago and Ben Thatcher. Couñago has suffered with a groin problem all summer, while Thatcher is still recovering from the knee ligament injury which saw him miss the final stages of last season.

Aside from Ed Upson, Jack Ainsley, Reggie Lambe, Ian McLoughlin and Shane O'Connor, who is set to sign a one-year deal with the club, the rest of the squad is made up of academy players, including trialist goalkeeper Mark Grace, who played for the U18s at Southwold last night.

Squad: Cormac Burke, David Cawley, Ed Upson, Ian McLoughlin, Jack Ainsley, Jaime Peters, Jamie Griffiths, Josh Carson, Josh Meekings, Kevin Lisbie, Luke Hyam, Mark Grace, Reggie Lambe, Ronan Murray, Rory McKeown, Seb Dunbar, Shane O'Connor, Tom Eastman, Troy Brown.
