Taffs Still Waiting on Johnson - Ipswich Town News

Just when you thought it was safe to assume David Johnson was a Scottish international in the making it is claimed he hasn't made up his mind after all. Eric Harrison, Welsh manager Mark Hughes's assistant, claimed yesterday that Johnson's Scottish international status was by no means done and dusted. Harrison said "It's still very much up in the air."

This, however, is not how George Burley sees the situation "As far as I'm concerned, David announced his decision last week and now the only thing on his mind, and mine, is the game at Maine Road." Wishful thinking from the Welsh?

Mark Venus missed training on Tuesday, but will not miss tonight's match against Manchester City at Maine Road. Also in the side will be Mickey Stockwell who has recovered from the concussion he received during the 1-0 win at Walsall. Town's other injury victim from the Bescot Stadium, Jim Magilton, travelled with the squad as his knee injury is not as serious as was originally thought. He may even be fit enough to play. Town squad: R Wright, Clapham, Johnson, Magilton, Venus, Stockwell, Wilnis, Scowcroft, Brown, Salmon, Naylor, Holland, Axeldal, McGreal, Croft, Holster, J Wright and Bramble

The Manu Thetis mystery deepens with a reliable source seeing Manu leaving the ground at about 1pm on Monday as other players were returning from training. It seems he isn't even training with the first team squad at the moment and didn't travel to Manchester. This all suggests that the rumoured falling out between player and manager is true. When will the full story get to be known?
