Dundee United\'s Gomis Linked Again - Ipswich Town News

Scottish reports are again linking the Blues with Dundee United midfielder Morgaro Gomis. The Senegalese international was first mentioned in connection with Town back in May when Roy Keane was spotted watching the Terrors taking on Celtic at Parkhead.

The Blues boss is said to have sent a scout to take another look at 24-year-old Gomis when Dundee United faced Newcastle in a pre-season friendly at Tannadice last Sunday. The Terrors are reported to want more than £1 million for the former Cowdenbeath player.

While Gomis very much appears to be a player who Keane has kept an eye on, a move for another central midfielder might be a surprise with Colin Healy and Jack Colback both joining the club recently.

However, with Alan Quinn believed to be amongst those players Keane is willing to allow to leave Portman Road and with his 4-3-3 formation requiring three central midfield players, the Blues boss may feel he will need further cover in that area as the season progresses.

Meanwhile, according to one report this morning, Town’s recent two-day session with the Paras at Colchester involved the "ritual” barbecuing and eating of a pig’s head.

The Blues squad were with the army just over a week ago where they completed an assault course, initiative tests, built an overnight shelter, shot live ammunition and took part in combat simulation and endurance tests.
