Irish Pair to Sign? - Ipswich Town News

Bohemians pair Gary Deegan and Brian Murphy will join the Blues at the end of the Irish season in November, according to reports in Ireland. The duo will be out of contract, although Bohs will be due compensation for Deegan as he’s under 24.

Midfielder Deegan, 21, was first linked with the Blues three weeks ago, while TWTD first broke the news of Town’s interest in Murphy a week ago.

While the players are believed to be joining the Blues in November, the duo could not officially sign until the transfer window reopens in January.

Town are understood to have been in talks with the Dublin club over the last few weeks in an attempt to land the pair during this transfer window, but the League of Ireland leaders are determined to hold on to their two best players until the end of their season.

Meanwhile, Roy Keane is ready to add Brian Kidd to his coaching staff, according to a tabloid newspaper.

Kidd, who Keane was coached by at Manchester United, has decided not to continue in his role as Paul Hart’s assistant at Portsmouth this season.

However, on Thursday Keane denied that he would be making any further changes to his backroom team: "No, that’s it in terms of the staff. I’m very happy with the staff who were at the club.

"That was a big issue for me when I came down. You always want to bring in one or two of your own staff in terms of people you can trust, but I also wanted to be fair to the staff that were here and they’ve all proved to be very, very good. We need a good team behind the first team, and I think we have that.”
