Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says former Town loanee Giovani Dos Santos has a “part to play” at White Hart Lane. Rumours of Dos Santos’s return to Portman Road have continued throughout the summer, despite manager Roy Keane describing the chances of the move taking place as “very, very, very slim”.
Redknapp says Dos Santos impressed him in a Carling Cup tie last week and could now come more into his plans: "He played the other night and did very well. He looked lively at Doncaster, so hopefully he can continue in that form.
"He's had a good spell with the Mexican national team, he was the player of the tournament recently [at the CONCACAF Gold Cup], so he looks like he's certainly got something to offer and he's got a part to play here.
"If he continues in that form, if he dedicates himself to being a top player, then there's no reason why he can't do that. He's got all the ability, but it's up to him now."
Dos Santos spent the final two months of last season on loan at Portman Road, scoring four times in six starts and two sub appearances.
