Town and Blades Battling for Shittu - Ipswich Town News
Town and Sheffield United are locked in a battle to sign Bolton Wanderers central defender Danny Shittu, according to reports in Lancashire this morning. Both clubs are said to want to take Shittu on loan by the end of the week, while two other Championship sides are also believed to have shown interest in the 29-year-old.
The Blues were first linked with the Nigerian international earlier in the week with manager Roy Keane subsequently refusing to comment on the reports.
Elsewhere, this morning Colchester and Barnsley are also said to be interested in the former QPR and Watford man, who has previously been mentioned in connection with Newcastle United.
Keane appeared less than confident of signing his two loan targets after last night’s game when he said that no loan players would come in before Saturday’s game at Doncaster Rovers.
