Bolton Confirm Shittu\'s Blades Snub - Ipswich Town News

Bolton manager Gary Megson has confirmed that central defender Danny Shittu has turned down the chance to join Sheffield United on loan. Town are also understood to have been chasing the former QPR and Watford centre-half.

Megson said: "I spoke to [Sheffield United assistant boss] Sam Ellis a few times and it was put to Danny that he could go there if he wanted for a month's football and could have played six games.

"I felt it would have been good for everybody, but Danny didn't want to, which is his prerogative, so he has not gone."

Reports earlier today claimed Shittu is keen to push for a first team place at Bolton, which would suggest that Town will also be unable to land the man mountain defender on loan.
