Town Still Chasing Loanee - Ipswich Town News

Manager Roy Keane says Town owner and chairman Marcus Evans is continuing talks regarding bringing a loan player to the club but was unable to announce any progress at Friday’s pre-match press conference. Last week, the Blues boss revealed that he was targeting two loan players.

Keane said: ”There’s no news. In the background the owner’s trying to make progress on one player, but I’ve no update on that.

"I’ve been focusing on working with the players that I’ve got and looking at the game tomorrow. That’s as much news as I have for you.

"I’m not going to go into it, but there’s one area I think we need to improve on, in terms of helping the team and the squad, and I’ll keep working on it.”

Elsewhere, reports in Bolton say the Blues are yet to make firm loan offer for Wanderers central defender Danny Shittu, who earlier in the week turned down a move to Sheffield United.

Bolton manager Gary Megson says the situation was more that the 29-year-old didn’t fancy a move to Bramall Lane rather than doesn’t want to go out on loan: "I asked him if it was Sheffield United he didn’t fancy or just that he didn’t like the fact of going on loan, and it was Sheffield United.”
