Barton Ruled Out of Newcastle Side Facing Town - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Joey Barton is the latest Newcastle player to be ruled out of Saturday’s live BBC2 game with Town at Portman Road (KO 5.30pm). The controversial ex-Manchester City man has a foot injury.
Caretaker boss Chris Hughton said: "Joey will not figure. He has had a problem with his foot of late, it is a bit of a hangover from a problem he had earlier in the season, but we hope to have him back in contention soon.”
Aston Villa have confirmed that Marlon Harewood has left them to join Newcastle on a three-month loan.
Harewood, who is expected to make his debut against Town, spent time on loan with the Blues during the 1998/99 season, scoring one goal in five starts and one sub appearance.
