Town Sign York Youngster - Ipswich Town News
Reports in Yorkshire claim Town have splashed out a six-figure sum to bring 16-year-old York defender Chris Hogg to Portman Road. Neither club is saying anything about the deal, but it is suggested that the deal will go through imminently.
Hogg had a spell on trial at Manchester United last season, but this came to nothing. The player made no appearances for York, but came to prominence when he appeared for the England U15s who he captained. While at York he was the only player from outside the top two divisions to play for the England U17s.
The deal for Hogg is thought to include extras based on appearances and caps, and a sell-on clause.
Other youngsters to come from Alex Mathie's current club include Birmingham's Curtis Woodhouse and Cameron Stuart, a promising player at Aston Villa.
