Warner Runner-Up at Awards - Ipswich Town News

Warner Duff, Town’s disability liaison officer, was a runner-up in the Feelgood Factor category at the Pride of Britain Awards, screened on ITV last night.

Warner, who joined the nine other nominees at 10 Downing Street on Monday, represented the Anglia TV region at the awards for setting up and running the Ipswich Town Disabled Football Club.

Earlier this year, Warner carried off the EA Sports Fan of the Year at the 2009 Football League Awards and was named Club Employee/Volunteer for 2009 by the National Association of Disabled Supporters (NADS).

Meanwhile, Sol Campbell has been linked with a permanent move to West Brom. Town boss Roy Keane recently said he could be interested in signing the former England central defender.

Elsewhere, former Blue Paul Mariner has hinted that he could return to England at some point in his coaching career.

Mariner, who is currently the assistant manager of the New England Revolution in the United States but has been linked with a coaching role at former club Plymouth Argyle, says he is yet to be offered a UK-based job: "I have been asked many times whether I would like to work in England but I have never had the opportunity.

"When the opportunity comes along, I will make that decision. At the present moment, I have got a couple of things in the States that are different to the MLS and they are on the table.

"I have got a decent reputation out there. I love Boston and everything is hunky-dory, but I'm probably in the house for half of the year.

"I'm always travelling, scouting and looking at players. It's a nomadic life whatever you do in football."
