Campbell Wants Championship Loan - Ipswich Town News

Sol Campbell is keen on a loan move to a Championship club before joining a Premier League side in January, according to a tabloid report this morning. Campbell recently left Notts County weeks into a five-year deal, but is still officially contracted to the League Two club.

This would allow him to move out on loan to a Football League side with Town manager Roy Keane having expressed in his interest in the former England man last month.

However, West Brom are considered favourites for the ex-Arsenal and Tottenham defender’s signature with the 35-year-old reported to have already held talks with the Baggies.

Meanwhile, another tabloid report claims Town midfielder Owen Garvan has told friends that manager Roy Keane isn’t speaking to him and that he expects to leave the club.

Garvan, who is currently away skippering the Republic of Ireland U21s, hasn’t played for the first team since August and last month turned down a loan spell at Colchester, although Keane recently said he could still come back into his thoughts.
