Begovic Out to Play Games - Ipswich Town News
New loan signing Asmir Begovic says doesn’t intend to spend his three months with the Blues sat on the subs' bench. The Bosnian international could make his Town debut when Roy Keane’s side face Swansea at Portman Road on Saturday.
Portsmouth keeper Begovic says he doesn’t see his role here as providing cover for Richard Wright: "It’s down to the manager who he picks but my intention is to play. Wherever I am I want to play, whether that’ll be the case we’ll see.
"I’m really excited to be here. I know the stadium because I’ve been here before [as sub keeper with Portsmouth in the FA Cup in January 2008]. The training ground is fantastic, it’s a well run club which is Premiership level.”
The 22-year-old was withdrawn from the Bosnia squad which lost to Spain in their final World Cup qualifier last night to complete his move to the Blues, having made his international debut as a sub in the 2-0 victory over Estonia on Saturday.
