Adkins Dismisses Garvan Link - Ipswich Town News
Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins has dismissed claims that he is chasing Town midfielder Owen Garvan. The Iron were recently linked with a move for the Irish U21 skipper along with Cardiff City, QPR and Nottingham Forest.
Adkins said: "I believe I have been linked with another player [Garvan] which is totally wrong.
"One, I have never spoken to Ipswich Town, two, I don't even know who his agent is and three, I haven't got a clue where he is coming from on it.
"Four, I do know who the player is, five, I have seen him on the television, six, I have seen him live myself and seven I do know he is a good player.
"Have I made an enquiry about him, no. I do wonder where they come from but, having experienced it over the past few years, it's one of those things.
"We are going to get linked with players all the way through the January transfer window.”
Adkins has also been linked with a move for Liam Trotter before Thursday’s deadline, the midfielder having spent time on loan at Glanford Park last season.
