Norris Closing in On Return - Ipswich Town News
Boss Roy Keane says he is looking forward to having David Norris available again after the midfielder’s absence since August with a knee ligament injury. The Town manager says he will have to wait a bit longer for Argentinian wideman Luciano Civelli to return to action.
Keane told the club site: "David is doing very well and we are delighted with his progress. He is ahead of schedule in his recovery and we are looking at a December comeback date for him.
"He's a naturally fit lad but he will obviously need some reserve games to get up to speed and we might have to arrange some if we haven't any in the calendar.
"I only worked with him for two games last season - and he scored at Cardiff in one of them. He had a good pre-season and it was a blow for us to lose him at Coventry on the first day.
"Just as you learn about players when they are not in the first team, you learn about them when they are in the treatment room and his mentality with regards to his recovery has been outstanding.
"He has left a good impression with the medical staff and obviously when they tell me, that leaves a good impression with me. I'm looking forward to having him back and working with him again."
Keane expects Civell to return in the new year: "Luciano is slightly further behind than Norris. He’ll be another month or two yet. He saw the specialist last week and he’s been told to slow down for another week or two.”
