Wickham Set for Youth Cup Action - Ipswich Town News
Striker Connor Wickham will play for the Town U18s tonight when they start their FA Youth Cup campaign with a third round trip to Tranmere’s Prenton Park (KO 7pm). Wickham is the only U18 player with first team experience.
On-loan Spurs keeper Mirko Ranieri will be in goal with Ian McLoughlin too old to feature in the competition.
Also in the side will be Irish U19 international striker Ronan Murray, Ipswich-born midfielder Billy Clark, former Irish U16 international midfielder David Cawley and highly-rated central defender Tom Eastman.
The Blues last won the Youth Cup in 2005, having previously been successful in 1973 and 1975.
