Colback Set to Stay With Town - Ipswich Town News

Loan midfielder Jack Colback looks set to remain with the Blues after his current spell is up in the opening week of the new year. Manager Roy Keane says he has already spoken to Sunderland boss Steve Bruce about extending the 20-year-old’s time at Portman Road.

Keane said: "I have spoken to Jack and Brucie and we may have news on that next week.

"We've been delighted with Jack. He's a good lad, shown a good attitude and he's improving all the time.

"I'd like to keep him but we have to respect he's not our player, he's Sunderland's and we have to speak to them and try and get the right deal.”

Keeper Arran Lee-Barrett’s short-term deal with the club is up on January 21st and Keane says the Blues will look to address his future nearer to then: "We have got a few more weeks with Arran but we've been delighted with him and we expect him to stay longer than his contract expires."

Keane says he plans to speak to Stern John regarding his future after his loan is up after the QPR game.

Meanwhile, midfielder Reggie Lambe is back home in Bermuda ahead of two U23 internationals against Trinidad and Tobago. The first match is on December 28th and the second on New Year's Day.
