Lisbie Linked With Palace - Ipswich Town News

Striker Kevin Lisbie has been linked with a possible move to Crystal Palace. The former Charlton man is due back from his loan spell at Colchester after the U’s FA Cup game at Preston North End today.

Lisbie appears less than happy to be returning to Portman Road with Colchester interested in signing him permanently, although manager Aidy Boothroyd admits his club would struggle to pay the fee wanted by the Blues or to manage the 31-year-old’s wages.

Town boss Roy Keane says other clubs have been in touch regarding Lisbie and Palace are said to be one of them.

However, the Eagles failed to pay their players for the fourth time this season last Thursday and appear to be in significant financial trouble, meaning a mass exodus during the transfer window is far more likely than any new signings.

Elsewhere, Swindon boss Danny Wilson says there’s no truth to reports that Town, Nottingham Forest and Derby are keeping an eye on striker Charlie Austin: "He’s the flavour of the month at the moment and this attention is like the stuff players in the Premiership get every week. Obviously there’s nothing in it whatsoever.”
