Lisbie Still With U\'s - Ipswich Town News

Striker Kevin Lisbie says he has yet to be recalled from his loan at Colchester United by Town and is still training with the U’s. Blues boss Roy Keane has stated his intention to recall the former Charlton man from his season-long loan early on a number of occasions, something he has been able to do since the transfer window opened on Monday.

Lisbie has heard nothing from Town so far and doesn’t anticipate playing for the Blues again.

The 31-year-old says he expects to feature for the U’s at the weekend and to remain with the Essex club until at least the end of the month: "I haven't done anything since January 1, but I am back training with Colchester from tomorrow and I hope to be playing for them at Yeovil this weekend, if selected.”

Keane said last week that he would play Lisbie on his return to Portman Road, but also that he has received interest from other clubs in signing the former Jamaican international on a permanent basis.

Last week, Colchester boss Aidy Boothroyd admitted that his club would have trouble paying the fee the Blues want for Lisbie and meeting his wage demands.

Lisbie, who is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2011 having signed from Colchester for £750,000 in 2008, can be recalled by Town at 24 hours’ notice at any point in the transfer window.
