Town boss Roy Keane has confirmed that Arran Lee-Barrett’s agent is due at Portman Road for talks regarding the goalkeeper's new deal next week. Lee-Barrett’s short-term contract is up on January 21st.
Keane said: "I spoke to Arran this week. He’s due for talks early next week with his agent.
"We’re very pleased with Arran and obviously we’d like him to stay. He’s going to fight his corner and that’s what I expect.
"Arran’s done very, very well for us, but you have to remember that we’ve done well for Arran. Four or five months ago he was in no man’s land.
"It’s worked for both parties and I wouldn’t expect any problems with his contract, there might be an issue with the length of it, but we’ll get that sorted. The boy’s done well and I like to reward players who have done well for me.”
Local boy Lee-Barrett, who was released by the Town academy at 16, is set to continue in goal this afternoon when the Blues face his old club Coventry at Portman Road.
