Murphy Wins Award - Ipswich Town News
New Town keeper Brian Murphy was named the AVIVA/Soccer Writers' Association of Ireland Goalkeeper of the Year for the third year in succession at a dinner in Dublin last night.
Murphy helped his Bohemians side to their second successive League of Ireland title and was picked in the full Republic of Ireland squad before joining the Blues on an 18-month contract at the end of the Irish season.
The 26-year-old misses today’s game against Coventry having injured his ankle during the warm-up ahead of last week’s match at Leicester. The Waterford-born keeper hopes to be available for next Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Southampton.
