Fan\'s Shirt Challenge for Haiti - Ipswich Town News
Town fan Marcus Brien is hoping to raise £1981 for the British Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Appeal by parading around the Portman Road pitch wearing a Norwich City shirt when the Blues take on West Brom on Tuesday 26th January. The British Red Cross has already raised more than £1 million in aid for Haiti.
Marcus, a regular on Ipswich Community Radio, told TWTD that his challenge could force him to have to move house: "Most people try and climb Everest or soak themselves in a bath full of beans to raise funds. I have chosen something more dangerous and embarrassing and may have to leave Ipswich as a result.
"You can help either let me go through with this or save me from my moment of madness by donating and voting for either the Norwich shirt or the Ipswich shirt at http://www.justgiving.com/norwichshirt by simply leaving a message after you have donated, to say which shirt you would love to see me wear.
"There are only a few reasons why this shouldn't be done, but 50,000 reasons so far why it should be.”
Marcus chose the figure of £1981 as his target as 1981 was the year in which the Blues won the UEFA Cup.
