Striker Kevin Lisbie says he’s happy to remain at Colchester for the rest of the season, but would have preferred to have made a permanent move away from the Blues during the transfer window.
Lisbie was close to joining Southampton earlier in the month but in the end the Saints opted to recruit Southend’s Lee Barnard, while interest from another Championship side came to nothing.
The 31-year-old said: "I'm happy with it all being over and done with for now. I've always said that I would love to stay and try to help get Colchester promoted, but obviously it would have been better for me to have found a club and got a two or three-year contract.”
Lisbie is contracted to the Blues until 2011 and Town will again look to offload the ex-Charlton man when the summer transfer window opens.
