Keane: More Players Could Leave on Loan - Ipswich Town News

Boss Roy Keane says he has received loan interest in members of his squad since the transfer window ended on Monday. Football League clubs are able to take players on emergency loans from next week.

Keane said: "We’ve had one or two offers after the deadline in terms of for next week, which is something I’m weighing up at the moment.”

The Town manager has previously said that he would be willing to allow the likes of defender Troy Brown and winger Reggie Lambe out to gain experience, while the club appears to have a surfeit of midfielders with experienced players such as Alan Quinn rarely involved of late.

Keane also says that central defender Tommy Smith could be recalled from his loan spell at Brentford before the full 93 days agreed with the Bees last week: "He's enjoying his football there and we're happy for him to stay at Brentford.

"He'll be back after the 93 days but it wouldn't surprise me if it was before that, maybe over the next few weeks. We'll see what develops."

Smith, 19, is the only Town player out on loan subject to a 24-hour recall clause, while Sunderland have a similar arrangement with Jack Colback but not Daryl Murphy or David Healy.
