Town boss Roy Keane says his side should be scoring more goals from set pieces. The Blues won a succession of corners and freekicks in dangerous areas at Preston last week and had only Tamás Priskin’s disallowed goal to show for them.
Keane said: "We should be making more of our set pieces, without a shadow of a doubt. If you think we don’t work on it you’re wrong but you have to transfer what you do on the training pitch into the game on a Saturday.
"But we’ve had our chances, look at the West Brom game, Gareth had a good chance. Don’t think you’re going to get 10 free headers in a game, all you need is one, just like the boy Cahill [for Everton at Wigan] last week and you win the game 1-0.
"Last weekend, in terms of going forward, we were poor on the set piece side of it.”
Keane will be hoping that new loan striker Daryl Murphy will add a further aerial threat to his side when the Blues face Middlesbrough at Portman Road this afternoon.
