Keeper Richard Wright is ahead of schedule as he recovers from the knee ligament injury he sustained at Cardiff at the end of November. Boss Roy Keane says the former England glovesman is showing what a good professional he is.
The Blues boss said: "He’s making very good progress, I would say he’s three or four weeks ahead of schedule. We’re delighted with him. He’s even been out on the training pitch, doing little bits of mobility with Jimbo [James Hollman], the goalkeeping coach.
"You learn a lot about your players when they’re injured and he’s showing what a good professional he is.
"The goalkeeping situation has been a real disappointment for us this season. That certainly hasn’t helped us.
"But Wrighty’s a good professional, no surprises there, he’s making real good progress, but he’s in the hands of the surgeons and we’ll still have to wait and see what they say.”
The 32-year-old, who was initially expected to be sidelined until the end of March, is out of contract with the Blues in June.
