Central defender Tommy Smith has been named in the New Zealand senior squad for the first time. Macclesfield-born Smith, who has previously represented England’s U17s, recently committed to play for the country where he lived between the ages of eight and 16.
The 19-year-old, currently on loan at Brentford, looks set to make his international debut when the All Whites face Mexico in a friendly in Los Angeles on March 3rd as they prepare for their World Cup campaign.
