Clegg in Olympic Exhibition - Ipswich Town News

Town’s chief executive Simon Clegg, who previously held the same job with the British Olympic Association, was at Wembley earlier this week to be photographed by the internationally renowned Brian Griffin for a collection entitled The Road to 2012, which will be exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery.

A three-year collaboration between the National Portrait Gallery and BT, the official communications services partner for London 2012, The Road to 2012 will feature 100 of the individuals prominent in London’s Olympics from start to finish.

Clegg says he was delighted to be included in the project: "I am delighted to be included in this collection and look forward to seeing the finished product together with others in the series where they are unveiled at the National Portrait Gallery later in the summer.

"It is flattering that the contribution my colleagues and I made in getting the bid started has not been forgotten as we chase delivering a successful Games in 2012.”

The Road to 2012 also includes portraits of athletes Jonathan Edwards and Denise Lewis and politicians Ken Livingstone and Tessa Jowell.
