Scaloni Second Deportivo Target - Ipswich Town News

Deportivo La Coruña sources are reporting that Town not only have an interest in their captain Fran, but also another midfielder, Lionel Scaloni. They report that Town and Italians Parma have both had fees of around £5 million accepted for the 23-year-old Argentinian.

TWTD heard this afternoon that the non-Spanish Spain-based player was Italian and Scaloni fits the bill as he, like Mauricio Taricco, has an Italian passport.

Scaloni has been with Deportivo since 1997 and joined from Argentine club Estudiantes. He played for Argentina in the 1998 Malaysian U20 tournament where Kieron Dyer starred.

He plays on either the left or centre of midfield. Deportivo are desperate to reduce a squad which has swelled to unwieldy proportions and need to reduce it desperately.
