Wife\'s Pregnancy Puts Stead\'s Coventry Move on Hold - Ipswich Town News
Jon Stead is stalling on his proposed loan move to Coventry because his wife is pregnant, according to reports this morning. The Sky Blues are keen to recruit the former Sheffield United man on a temporary basis with a view to a permanent deal in the summer.
Last week, the clubs agreed a deal and Stead held talks at the Ricoh Arena but the player is unsure about the switch with his wife three weeks away from giving birth.
A loan deal would mean the 26-year-old frontman would spend a significant amount of time away from Suffolk, something he is loath to do at the present time.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that club owner Marcus Evans’s Sports Management Group is selling unofficial corporate packages for the London Olympics.
