Striker David Healy says he was delighted to score his first Town goal at Scunthorpe on Tuesday and is confident that he can add to his total against Bristol City on Saturday.
Writing in his column in the Belfast Telegraph, Healy said: "It was a scrappy goal, but to be honest I didn’t care one little bit.
"It’s been a long time coming and I was delighted when it arrived, especially because it brought us a vital point in our battle to move up the Championship table.
"I am getting more game time and am feeling fitter and sharper than I have done for some time.
"I know I have been training day in day out for the past year, but nothing beats playing matches and that’s what I’m doing at Ipswich.
"We face Bristol City at the weekend and I’m feeling confident that if I get another chance I’ll put it away.”
Meanwhile, England boss Fabio Capello is in Ipswich today to open Suffolk New College.
Capello says he’s not been to Ipswich before: "This will be my first visit to Ipswich and I'm very pleased to have been invited to Suffolk New College to officially open the new building.”
Elsewhere, Town are reported to be interested in signing former midfielder Darren Ambrose on loan from Crystal Palace, although Neil Warnock is said to be ready to take the ex-England U21 international to QPR when he moves to Loftus Road. The Eagles boss is expected to switch clubs next week.
Ambrose, who came through the Town academy system and then had a spell back on loan last year, has scored 17 goals from midfield during 2009/10, but yesterday manager Roy Keane ruled out further loan moves before the end of the season except as cover for injuries.
