Trinidadian international Kerry Baptiste has had his trial with the Blues extended by four days, according to reports in the Caribbean. The 28-year-old arrived at the club last Tuesday for what was initially planned to be a week at Playford Road.
On Friday boss Roy Keane said that he hadn’t seen much of the Trinidad and Tobago striker or right winger in action but was due to take a look at him in training later that day.
An international team-mate of Carlos Edwards and former loanee Stern John with 43 caps and eight goals, Baptiste currently plays for Joe Public FC in his home country.
Previously with San Juan Jabloteh and the North East Stars, Baptiste is the all-time top scorer in the TT Pro League, Trinidad and Tobago's top division, having scored 102 goals, 48 of them coming last season.
Baptiste is ineligible for Tuesday’s reserves game at Wycombe Wanderers (KO 7pm at Maidenhead's York Road), but Keane says he could play in a training match.
MLS sides FC Dallas and Toronto FC are also understood to be interested in Baptiste's signature.
