Kuqi: No Swan Dive Against Town - Ipswich Town News
Former Blue Shefki Kuqi says he won’t celebrate with his trademark dive if he scores against Town for Swansea at the Liberty Stadium next Saturday. The Finnish international, who was with the Blues between 2003 and 2005 and then briefly again on loan in 2008, joined the Swans from German side Koblenz in January.
Kuqi said: "Ipswich are very close to my heart it's a special club for me. I loved every minute of my time there. I had a close relationship with the fans and they appreciated the way I played.
"If I score against them I definitely won't celebrate. I will never celebrate if I score against Ipswich.
"People want to see me do the dive when I score but it won't happen on Saturday. That's my way of showing respect.
"Whenever I go back to Ipswich I feel really good and relaxed. The place feels like home. I got on so well with the people who worked at the club.
"My one regret is that I didn't win promotion there. We came close twice - both times we lost in the play-offs.”
So far Kuqi has netted three times in eight starts and four sub appearances for the Swans.
